Via Condotti Jacket !

This easy-to-stitch jacket is made using a sport-weight yarn.
FINISHED SIZES
Instructions given fit 34-inch bust (small); changes for 36-inch bust (medium), 38-inch bust (large) and 40-inch bust (X-large) are in [ ].
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust: 37 inches (small) [40 inches (medium), 43 inches (large), 46 inches (X-large)]
MATERIALS
 • Red Heart Luster Sheen fine (sport) weight acrylic yarn (3.5 oz/307 yds/100 g per skein): 4 [5,6,6] skeins #0805 natural
• Size G/6/4mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
GAUGE
17 dc = 4 inches; 4 dc rows and 3 tr rows = 4 inches
PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Chain-5 at beginning of row counts as first treble crochet and chain-1 unless otherwise stated.
Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.
Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
JACKET
Row 1 (RS): Starting at cuff of right sleeve, ch 71, dc in 4th ch from hook (3 sk chs count as first dc), dc in each ch across, turn. (69 dc)
Row 2: Ch 5 (see Pattern Notes), sk next st, tr in next st, [ch 1, sk next st, tr in next st] across, turn. (35 tr, 34 ch sps)
Row 3: Ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), dc in each ch sp and in each st across, turn. (69 dc)
Rows 4-27 [4-28, 4-29, 4-29]: [Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately] 12 [12,13,13] times.
Rows 28 [28, 30, 30]: Rep row 2.
Row 29 [29, 31, 31]: For right front, ch 70, drop lp from hook, join (see Pattern Notes) separate skein in last st, for back, ch 68. Fasten off. Pick up dropped lp, dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across for front, dc in each st across sleeve and dc in each ch across for back, turn. (205 dc)
Rows 30-41 [30-43, 32-47, 32- 49]: [Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately] 6 [7, 8, 9] times.
Row 42 [44, 48, 50]: Ch 5, sk next st, tr in next st, [ch 1, sk next st, tr in next st] 47 times, leaving rem sts unworked, turn. (49 tr, 48 ch sps)
Row 43 [45, 49, 51]: Ch 3, dc in each ch sp and st across, turn. (97 dc)
Rows 44-47 [46-49, 50-53, 52-55]: [Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately] twice each size.
Row 48 [50, 54, 56]: Rep Row 2.
Row 49 [51, 55, 57]: For left front, ch 110, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each rem ch and ch sp across, turn. (205 dc)
Rows 50-61 [52-65, 56-71, 58-75]: [Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately] 6 [7, 8, 9] times. Fasten off at end of last row.
Row 62 [66, 72, 76]: For left sleeve, sk first 68 sts, join in next st, ch 5, sk next st, tr in next st, [ch 1, sk next st, tr in next st] 33 times, turn, leaving rem sts unworked, turn. (35 tr, 34 ch sps)
Row 63 [67, 73, 77]: Ch 3, dc in each ch sp and st across, turn. (69 dc)
Rows 64-89 [68-93, 74-101, 78-105]: Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately. Fasten off at end of last row.
Sew sleeve and side seams.

Do I start the (Row 29 [29, 31, 31]: For right front, ch 70, drop lp from hook, join (see Pattern Notes) separate skein in last st, for back, ch 68. Fasten off. Pick up dropped lp, dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across for front, dc in each st across sleeve and dc in each ch across for back, turn. (205 dc)) part using a new skein of yarn? I am a little confused since it says to chain 70 for row 29, which is the next row after the sleeve. Please help!!! Thanks

  4. My niece is trying to help a friend crochet this jacket. The pattern is very confusing and it is frustrating trying to make it. Has anyone else had difficulty with this pattern!! As Yasmin says HELP please
